2405FPW Full Screen video problem

Linflas

Lifer
When I try to view a 16:9 DVD in full screen mode I get "jaggies" like the interlace is offset incorrectly. This only happens when viewing in full screen mode. If I switch it to 4:3 all is fine. The DVD I am troubleshooting with is a widescreen DVD that plays fine on a CRT machine. Anyone have any ideas?

What input are you using? DVI? VGA? SVideo? Component?
And, does your DVD viewing program use the graphics card's video acceleration hardware? Is vsync enabled in the video card drivers?

DVI, video card is BFG 6800 GT OC, the hardware acceleration option is greyed out in PowerDVD and Nero ShowTime. I don't see a setting for vsync anywhere.

Edit: Found a vsync setting and enabled it, no change.

Make sure you have the Dell 2405fpw monitor drivers installed. You can get the driver off the CD that came with the monitor, at Dell's website, or on Windows Update under Hardware updates. I used the Windows Update drivers and have not had a problem since.

I'm using the one from Dell, just ran Windows update and it shows 0 hardware updates available so I think I have the most current one.
