It's been 3 minutes!!! Come ON man! :p

;)

You should have access to all multipliers with the 8K9A. What week is the chip? Have fun...

You could have at least bumped it up a few MHz before posting. :(

Please let us know:

1) Does the 8KH9 give you full capability to manipulate the bus speed and multipliers?

2) If you dealt with a good vendor and received your "goodies" at a great price, please list the vendor that had these items in stock.

I'm looking forward to your future updates regarding this "hot" combo. ;)

yes i have all the multipliers..

Here are some initial thoughts on the board itself:

1. Boy is it small...about an 1" or so narrower than my 8kha+
2. only 2 fan headers...and the second IMHO is useless as its burried on the bottom left corner of the motherboard.
3. no chipset fan..no biggie...strapped a spare on just in case.
4. floppy drive connector in bad spot...all the way at the bottem of the board...if I still had my INWIN Q500, I'd need 4 feet of floppy cable.
5. Nice BIOS...lots of stuff to tweak
6. mmmm....maybe i'm an idiot, but I could have sworn you could run the DDR at 133/266 when the chip was running at 166/233...maybe I just havent found the proper BIOS setting.

I'll through screenies and pix up here as I go along

Vendor was Newegg, of course :)
paid 282.00USD for the combo, this included 2 day Fedex and 3.00 Rush Processing Fee.

Frick! No on-board LAN. :( Only 2 "fixed" USB ports. :(

However, I guess that's the price that gets paid when you buy a board with such wonderful "OC" capabilities. I guess you can't have it all. :(

onboard lan is not critical for me as i have some nice intel nics and plenty of usb ports on my GTXP.

maybe some one can tell me if it's even possible to run the mem at 133/266 and the cpu at 166/333? I sure can't seem to figure out how....

Nothin like new hardware. :)

So am I hearing right, you don't have to connect any bridges on the cpu with this mb?

You shouldn't be drinking when trying to read the mb manual. ;)

no bridges to connect :)

I had her up to 2266 using just 133fsb and 17x multiplier...but bombed at the desktop...this was at1.8v
so the question becomes how much more does she have in her and should i run out and get some samsung 2700 at the ma an pa store?

not drinking when reading a manual? that;s unheard of :)

but it seems that at 166fsb only ddr333 is allowed as a setting...no 266 no matter what i tried

Be careful, you can get a pwi. (posting while intoxicated)

What's would ~2200 be in rating numbers?

That's pretty impressive! ;) - Maybe, I could look beyond the lack of 2 USB ports on the back and also the LAN connection.

Which sound chip is provided on this board (Realtek? CMI?) - Has anyone had any experience with the sound? TIA! :)

Go grab a beer and wait. Make sure your back to stock speed.
Try again. Believe it or not, waiting sometimes helps.

Can you get to safe mode?

If selecting safe mode doesn't work, then there's the recovery console.

You can use your setup cd to get to that. Type help to get a list of commands.

Recovery console is a pain in the ass if you've never used it before, or if you don't know exactely what to repair.

I'd still try the wait and see approach

If you're running Windows XP, you might want to look up some articles on "Slipstreaming" - which will combine your Windows XP & SP1 installation. This should save you a little time during the installation process. I haven't tried it yet, but will during my next install.

Already done :) but thanks for the heads up...all my MS products have been sliped, and noy are you right about it saving time.
It was time for a fresh install anyways...no time like the present as they say...i'm up and running again already, just tweaking the OS now and installing some apps.
