Was runnin' around lookin' for work, and stopped in to pickup some socks (you just had to know that, right?) and what do I see but a huge box proclaiming to the world that it contains 240 tools and a chest/base combo from Stanley for only $50. The "was" price was only $139 which is still a steal! $50 is insane!

I was so supprised that I ran out to my car and grabbed my digi-cam to snap some pics (since I am unemployed and have $0 to spend on anything :()

This is from the Chicagoland market

So here ya go, 2 pics of the boxes.

Pic #2

as has become the norm with entry level kits, about 1/4 of the tools are just bits for a driver. Here are the tools that I saw in the kit:

3/8" ratchet
3/8" metric and std sockets, deep well and std. Good selection.
1/2" ratchet
1/2" metric and std sockets, deep well and std. good selection.
Full selection of extensions in 1/4, 3/8 and 1/2" sizes
1/4, 3/8" and 1/2" universals
3/8 to 1/4" adapter ( I did not see a 1/4" rathcet suprisingly)
1/4" nut driver and adaper for bits
1/4" std and metric sockets, deep std depth only
metric and std box end wrenches
Std and metric allen keys (hex keys) "L" design
Spark plug socket

So it is an awesome kit for the person who has a limited amount of tools, or wants anoter set for the work area or something. Really not for the mechanic since Stanley does not have a lifetime replacement guarranty, but still awesome for the $.

Hell, at that price who needs a lifetime warranty. A warranty does no good when you loose tools like I do. I will have to go check this one out.

Which Walmart is it, is it the one off of 83 (Kingery Highway)?

Or the one off of 75th where they just had the fire nearby and next to 4 corners?

Is this available only at that one store? I will check the Walmart here in California but that sounds too good to be true.

Called all the stores in the Seattle-Tacoma area. Very few left, some at the regular price of $139.00, the lowest at $97.00. None at $50.00

I have been watching these. One local has it at $100 another had it at $85. I almost bought it but there are a lot of screwdriver bits in this 240 piece set. I would pay $50 for the set but not $85.

Thats just me of course. ;)

I am definately going to keep an eye out for another price drop.
