As title states, I went to school right out of H.S did well, went into biology got accepted into major, however shortly after the first semester, I decided I want to go into IT, I then went into a nearby school and recieved an associates degree in Networking. I worked, did fairly well, and anyways, I got a job offer from the college where I would go to school as a network admin, and basically my tuition woulc cost next to nothing with there benefit coverage, extremely flexible hours, and can go back to school - I planned on finishing my undergrad in biology, and then going into radiological sciences.

Am I too old to do this? Any stories? Plan of attacks? Please discuss.

Dude... there was a 50yo nurse and a 35yo ex-olympic athlete in my med school class.

Edit: Also, a 45yo Dentist.

Perhaps, or go all the way, depends on how I feel once I complete the courses required...but from what I hear either way...has a great pay off and great job security. I do fear outsourcing though in the future... via constant broadband, but I don't know.

dont go into radiological science, do something more hands on. Mass general has already outsourced a significant portion of their radiology department

Why would you be too old? If anything, you're better suited than an 18 year old straight out of high school because of your work experience and such.

Not at all too old, imo, but IT to premed is a pretty big switch. I'd at least be sure that it's something you really want to do, because it can be a costly mistake if not.

When I was in med school, I was 23 and one of the youngest, the average was 26 with the oldest being in the 40s.

my mom was a nurse for years and then went back to medical school at age 40. doesn't regret it at all and makes a helluva lot more money.
