24" widescreen gaming and multi-GPU

I always change the config or ini of my games to run at 1440x900 instead of 1920x1200 with my dell 2405fpw.

Games like Doom 3, HL2, Prey and other FPS run fine with x1900xt and x800xt boxes.

Do I really need crossfire/sli for gaming at 1440x900?

No you don't. A x1900xt can easily handle 1440x900 and well above that.

You said yourself, the games you play run fine.

Now if I do the same config/ini with games like Crysis and Stalker

I hope that I can run these 2 games at 1440x900 with my 24" WSLCD without any hiccups.
