24 vs Alias

ive watched all of 24 thus far in about 2 months..its pretty sweet (as in exciting stuff, although alil overboard maybe...but its entertainment)

Just started watching Alias season 1...lil similar...but feel like 24 places a lot of emphasis on details executing each mission, etc...while alias sorta skims it. i guess 24 is all within 1 day anyways.

verdict: 24...how every minute is just exciting to watch, while alias seems more of a fast paced soap opera with espionage layout.

Garner > Sutherland

24 > Alias

Season 1 24 v. Season 1 Alias....24 by a very slim margin.

Current 24 v. Current Alias? Both inexorable crap.

Alias up to season 3 is still alright, starts to suck in the current season. Its the same sh!t every episode - mission brief, Sydney kicks some ass then cries, Vaugh looks concerned and the tech guy makes a awkward joke. Only thing good is the two hot chicks 🙂 Im still into 24 though, good action and drama.

I just started watching Alias this season. I have Season 1 at home and have been meaning to watch it since there are so many references to certain people killing certain parents and such. I hope season 1 fills this in.

Oh, and to add, I'm not much of a television guy but I have to say that:

House > *

Alias has lost its appeal to me - not much new stuff they can do after 3 seasons, but I still watch every episode just to keep with the storyline. 24 is more exciting and engaging. I don't think either are good for replay value though.

The real question is who's more of a badass, Jack Bauer or Jack Bristow? Huh? Huh?

Jack Bauer's wife got killed.
Jack Bristow killed his wife.

I've only watched like 2-3 episodes of 24 because my wife still hates Kieffer Sutherland after his role as a rapist in another movie. Anway, I got pissed the other night when they lose the "football" and have a small terrorist faction in possession of it and they send in only Jack knowing damn well there would at least be a SEAL team en route to that location to retrieve something so important. In any case, both shows are good entertainment.

Jack Bauer killed a suspect in order to sever his head to prove to some bad guys he was "loyal." Oh, and I think he's died and come back to life twice now 😀

(this is not to take away from Jack Bristow though b/c I do think he's the more sinister of the two)

Admittedly, I've only seen a few episodes of Alias and while it seems like a decent show, I couldn't help but feel like it's like 24 for women.

I love Alias. there's so many people tha tyou just can't figur eout what side they are on and always people getting double crossed and such. I absolutely love it. I've never seen 24 though. Never really interested me for whatever reason.

But to get the full impact of Alias, you do need to watch it from the beginning. If you jsut start watching it now you'd have no idea why the characters act the way they do to eat other and such.

24 runs circles over Alias.

Alias is a guilty pleasure for wasting an hour, but 24 is a BETTER show.

"The Shield" also gets my vote as a top-notch show.

Both Stargate shows and Battlestar Galacttica are worth watching as well.
