I was at the San Diego Fry's today looking at the rounded cables and saw a sale tag for a 24" Vantec copper mesh rounded cable for $2.99. The regular price was $9.99 and the tag said the price was good until 7/1. It also supports two devices and has a clear casing around the cable that is UV sensitive. Seems like a decent deal for people picking up a mb combo.

I just got back from the SD Fry's..

Did you find one cable with a sticker on it or something? All of the Vantec cables are clearly marked $9.99, with no sale tag or anything...

??

Californians getting all the good deals. Time to move back I'm thinking.
Fry's up here aren't offering that price.

yeah, but we have to deal with the customer service of fry's. You truly do not know incompetence until you've visited a Fry's.

When you are a true geek you do not need customer service. I love shopping at fry's but the nearist one is 1000 miles in Vegas.

There was a tag for $9.99 and right above it was a tag for $2.99 that looked very close to a normal price tag. It was on the wire thing so it wasn't just attached to one bag. If it wasn't there you could ask them to check the price or something because it rang up at $2.99 by itself.

Yup...I got 4. They marked them on the package as 9.99 so ONLY the people looking at the flyer could get in on it. They tried to say 1 per customer, I was with a friend, so we just bought 1 each and left store and came back real fast. $12 for $40 worth of cables, not bad. :p

my local Fry's has some other non-UV cables on sale, and it's $4.99 each -_-
i asked them to match the price for Vantec 24" but they said they won't since it's a special/promotion/whatever price :frown:

The Sacramento Frys has Inclose or SanMax brand 20 inch round cables on sale for $4.99. They also have a bundled deal for 2 24 inch ATA and 1 18 inch floppy cable for 18.99 (or 19.99 if you want the UV light ones). These appeared to be of decent quality, with silver shielding and clear PVC.

Glad to see someone else got in on it. I didn't even see it in the flyer, I just noticed it as I was looking at the cables.
