Instead of trusting in google for a description of this show; I decided to ask ATOT.

I caught a bit of an episode, and naturally I see the timer on the screen. What would you say is the plot? What's the goal? What could you tell me about the show that would make me want to watch it?

Jack Bauer used to work for the Los Angeles CTU (Counter-Terrorism Unit). Terrorists threaten US, there is usually a subplot involved with kidnapping or something. The terrorists usually have nukes, bioweapons, or missiles. Jack foils terrorists, usually acting by himself. He usually gets arrested and released for some reason. The ones closest to him die or are incapacitated somehow, can't give details. Oh yeah, you might want to add in your title or subtitle that SPOILERS (might be) INSIDE.

If you want to start watching, always start at the beginning of a season. Don't start in the middle of a season, you'll get lost. And make sure you have enough time to devote to each episode, since it is quite nerveracking watching it.

The episode that I caught a piece of was involving what I believe to be a hotel. There was a woman in a room with a man and she stabs him then the cops and whatnot rush in and restrain her.

Which episode/season is this?

Season 1, I forget which episode. I remember it being the afternoon though...😛
