....While I pretty much agree that, despite its intensely cinematic beginning, season six has kind of lost me

That happened for me about season 3

"24" should really be about "12"

I enjoyed season 5. Haven't watched 6 yet, i can't stand the suspense, so i watch all 24 episodes in one sitting.

They should have just killed the show after a few seasons. It's old and stale.

the first 4 episodes of this season were great, but the rest has been tame in comparison - i keep waiting for another nuke to go off.

What would have been awesome is to stop it after the first season. It was huge then because of the concept AND the material. Then the next season start over fresh at CTU: Rome or CTU: Base camp Bahgdad. Then get another moderately known to well known actor (like Keifer) to be the bad ass agent in that area. Maybe even crossing over agents for a few episodes.

Seems like that would keep it fresh and open up to more plausible ideas/plots.

It got hard to believe long ago that that much well orchestrated/back stabbing/plot twisting crap happens in one place.....but it is L.A. afterall, so maybe it isn't a big stretch!

What are you talking about? The Presidental seizure/coma? The planned assassination of the prez by his own guys? The Chinese plot twist? The fact that a little ancient PCB could cripple Russia if put in the wrong hands, or the Chinese assault team that took over CTU in a matter of minutes? (You'd think they'd have learned there lesson after being taken over at HQ the first few times).

So which part are you finding hard to follow?? :p

This show went downhill bigtime during this season.

If you just compare the first 4 episodes to the latter half of the season, you just wonder what the hell happened.

I still haven't watched mondays episode and I don't really feel like I want to. I just don't care about it.

I can't remember a season of anyother show where the majority of the people I talk to can't wait for the season to end for the sole reason of not having to watch TV at 9pm on Monday.

I will certainly not be watching the show live next season. I'll wait until it's on DVD or something and watch it all over a weekend.

They've said that they think their lack of planning has hurt them this year for the first time. I suspect it will still be the same format but they will mix it up, plan ahead, and stop using the same basic plots. Perhaps they will make it so that a 6th grader with a ruler couldn't break into CTU and kill half its staff.

I thought season 1 was the greatest thing since sliced bread and season 2 was pretty great, but I watched about half of season 3 and never tuned in again after that; it already seemed contrived and stale.

I can't believe it is still going to be honest.

How dare me talk about a crappy 24 season in a thread about how 24's become so crappy even the producers know they need to change the forumula!!

I've loved all seasons of 24 so far.
The first half of the season was definitely better than the 2nd half this year, and I agree the "24 :Rome " (or wherever) would be a good idea. Actually I was hoping this season would be Jack escaping from China, that would have mixed things up.
Even so it's still the best show on TV, IMO.

For me it was season two that got me. That one is still my favorite. Except for the lame Kim side-plot. Even her hotness couldn't save that.

Have they killed off Chloe yet? I never liked her.
