I currently own ONE BenQ 24" LCD, 2400WD or I think. Anyway, that is 400$. Now a pair of 2000WDs is only about 330-360$. (2 20" Monitors) What should I do? I don't mind having two extra screens btw.

I don't consider myself at the SERIOUS stage yet because I have other expenses first but I am just curious on your thoughts.

EDIT: READ READ READ

So. Let me make it more clear

1.I go buy TWO 20" BenQ 2000WD's. Cheaper, sweet.. Alright, more pixels even. Now I just put those on the sides of my already owned BenQ 2400WD. Boo-ya, I got three monitors. 1680x1050-1920x1200-1680x1050

2.I go buy ONE 24" BenQ 2400WD. More expensive and it's only one monitor and hey, it's the same size as my other. I could always buy another but meh, I don't really think I'd do it. So now I have TWO 24" BenQ 2400WD monitors. 1920x1200-1920x1200. Perfect Resolution but not as much real estate as the other option.

Wait guys... You don't understand. I mean I am going to be using THREE MONITORS. NOT TWO. IF I GET TWO TWENTY INCH MONITORS.

option number 2.) buy another 24 inch. 3 screens isnt needed.
movies and games look better on two 24inch monitors. I love gaming while I watch youtube.

I love gaming, IRC, youtube, and a lot more... Idk, I just can't seem to justify the price for one 24" over 2 20"s.

Sounds like you've made up your mind, go do it.

Just an FYI, I tried THREE MONITORS once, and I'll never do it again. It's just a headache, and my attention span can't cross all three at once. Right now in my setup, I already have my TV on at the same time my two monitors are running (so it's effectively 3) but the TV acts on its on of course since its... well a TV. :p

Long story short, I don't know if you really can maximize the benefit of three monitors outside of having the "Ooo I got three monitors" experience. But to be honest, I'm way more impressed by two larger monitors than someone with a lot of smaller multiple monitors.

I was that guy once with multi-monitor syndrome, but I'm better now. :D

With 3 monitors I think you can turn the 20" monitors from landscape to portrait and match the height of the 24"? IDK right now.

Doubtful. I think it'd be way too tall. :(

I know this thread is hopelessly old, but depending on what you're doing three monitors may be better than two. There are two systems in my office. One has 3x20" widescreen monitors and one has 4x19" monitors. The 4-monitor system is a lot more productive than the 3-monitor system for the number of windows which we use.

So if you're going to be chatting, doing research, writing papers, and browsing the web at the same time, go for the three monitors. Two would be limiting.

Three monitors is definitely the way to go. I just got started on using two and the productivity is so much. Instead of printing a paper with information so I can enter it in, say, excel, I can just have the information on one screen and SAVE paper. GO GREEN, GET 3 monitors and use more energy....:-/
