24" LCD monitor vs. 26" HDTV

Yeah I know $300 price difference but I think the monitor is worth the price since I can run games at 1900x1200 because I will be getting a top of the line video card. I might sell my 7800gtx and get a 7900gtx or 1900xtx.

Would it be worth it? Or should I just get something like this:

I'll probably settle on the NEC 20.1" widescreen because it's the cheaper solution. I currently have a 27" HDTV which I run my computer and games on and I really like it but it runs at 1280x720 which is 720i HDTV resolution and it's too stretched out... too small of a res I think for that size.

My friend has that Samsung tv which he is using as a computer monitor. Its a nice TV and works ok as a monitor, but its severely limited because of its low resolution. I would definitely recommend getting a true computer monitor with a higher resolution. Have you considered the Dell 24" monitor? Its a great value.

All three of those are differnt is a way.

The 24in. has a native res of 1920x1200.
The 26in. has a native res of 1366x768
The 20.1in has a native res of 1680x1050.

I wouldn't get the HDTV since it doesn't do 1080p native (does some pulldown thing), the 24in. is a nice one (but expensive) and the 20.1 is a nice deal if you really don't need the real estate of a 24in.

Okay I bought the 2407FPW but these people are insane to deal with. All from India obviously and I had to repeat my information every single ****** time. Add tax and California's stupid environmental fee and you got a total of around $800 something. At that price I should have just gone with the 20.1" widescreen. I got the 5 year warraranty however... so I feel a lot better about any dead pixels, etc. The warranty was mainly what sold me.
