24.....Is this show any good? EDIT: I'm hooked now

A friend of mine has currently been trying to get me to watch this, i know that if i start watching and get addicted that means i need to watch all the eppys as fast as i can.....last semester i watched all 60ish sopranos eppys in 2.5 weeks, so i wanna know is this show worth getting hooked on to?

edit: just got the torrent *err...dvds* of the first season, saw abt 4 eppy's, i think im hooked now

I've never seen it, and have no idea what it's about other than it's supposed to be based on a 24 time period or something, right?
How in the world can they make several seasons of this show, wouldn't they have ran out of time after the first dozen and a half episodes? And how can a guy have enough action in that short of time to base a show around a single day? Sounds pretty far fetched to me, but I'm still curious to see it.
