(Work) life just doesn't get any better than this...

I cranked up the AC in the office and put a fan under the desk.
Yes, it's crunching quite well.

It's actually two boxes, one Dell T-5500 and a Dell T-3500.
I've turned the other boxes off, they are just so slow by comparison it's just not worth the added heat.
If Seti were giving out WU I'd have a better idea of how well they are crunching.
But I'm running through a lot of Rosetta and Milky Way WU so that's good.

I've got four Dell 2950's, each with 16gb RAM and 2 quad-core processors that need to be "load tested". 🙂

FMC - sweet, those will heat up a room I'll bet!!

I actually have to use them for work too, but it seems a waste just letting them sit idle.
So they don't sit idle...

Yay dedicated AC for the server room. Also means I don't have to listen to the high-pitch whine of all the fans.

If only the race was a few months ago. We got a new blade server box, with each module having 2x X5670s and 96GB of RAM. I wish I could borg work computers, but most are doing mission-critical jobs now and can't be taken down. So much for all the dual E5520 boxes and the X5670 boxes. Even the Mac Pro's can't be taken down. Just my lonely iMac and a few Mac Mini's. 😛

I'm envious of your Dell's that need stress testing... 😉
