I guess it pays to read instructions.

The red LED light was still on 24 hours after I started charging. It turns out The two LED's are not switched off when the batteries are fully charged.

You need to actually take them out yourself 16-18 hours after putting them in. There is no switch off mechanism of any kind on the cheapo charger but it does the job. 24 batteries (2300 mAh) for under $20 is still a good deal though.

This is an excellent deal, but did you see the specs on the travel charger? 12VDC not 120VAC. This means if you don't have a charger laying around, then charge your batteries while you wait in traffic every morning on your way to work!

I almost got in on this. My Logitech MX700 needs new batts and some charged up spares would be sweet for gaming. I could have used the AAA's in my Rat Shack light-up-the-living room-remote, but I don't drive far enough to work to fully charge them.

Darn! :(

*edit* - They have other sale batteries and a bunch of inexpensive chargers too! I just might get something useful afterall. Thanks for the info.

Huh, what now? I have the wall charger that came with the 24 batteries chugging away now although it is listed to take 15-18 Hours (!) for 1800-2300mAh batteries.

Think of the charger as a free extra I guess.

I know it's not worth it to store Alkalines in the fridge but the rechargables last much longer if they're not left at room temperature.

What's the percentage difference between keeping them in the fridge vs. the freezer, anyone know?

Got in on the same deal a few weeks ago. They seem to be good batteries (at least far between than the Eb*y/Hong Kong specials I got before) but I haven't even opened the charger yet.

It's nice to have a surplus of rechargeable batteries for once-instead of cannibalizing remotes to get what you need.

Heres what I came across, "Consumers Report magazine took exactly 432 double A, C and D batteries. They stored some in the refrigerator, and some at room temperatures. At the end of five years they found that indeed the refrigerated batteries had more charge, but not by much. The room temperature batteries still had 96 percent of the charge of the refrigerated ones."

Yeah, does anyone have any real life data on these battery's capacity and life? Do they charge up well and last as long as their capacity would lead you to believe?

Here is another deal, just batteries (still the All-battery website):
24 AA 2600mAh + 12 AAA 1000mAh
Those are $35.89 (just a smidge less than $1/battery)

Or maybe this one if you need lots:
60 AA 2600mAh: $66.99

The reseller ratings for All-battery seem quite good at least. But what about the batteries themselves...I have never heard of the Tenergy brand, but that may not be saying too much. :)

Ooh, I just saw a coupon code over on Not-thin-money-holder for 10% off at All-batteries. Good through September according to the post.

Not sure on the battery quality myself, but after using a lot of generics, it's not really the longevity that goes into question, but the literal charge.

I have a lot of generic rechargeables in my time, and they always seem to be the first to fail charging in the charger. Basically the charger refuses to charge them anymore, givine me a charge error (Blinking LED)

But hey, if these batteries are good, it's a great price on them. Excellent deal imo.

I've been pretty happy with their batteries. Actually just bought the 12 AAA's two weeks ago. I've had their AA batteries for a few months and they rock... wish I had gotten the free charger when I bought 24 of them. Happy so far!!

Are you talking about regular batteries because that's what I mean when I said refrigerators are not worth it for those but for rechargeables it helps.

ahhhh you are right. I am sorry I did not read your post carefully. Greenbatteries.com states the following: "NiMH and Nicad batteries, start to lose power when stored for only a few days at room temperature. But they will retain a 90% charge for several months if you keep them in the freezer after they are fully charged. If you do decide to store your charged NiMH cells in the freezer or refrigerator, make sure you keep them in tightly sealed bags so they stay dry. And you should also let them return to room temperature before using them."

Right. Now the question is what is the difference between storing them in freezer vs. storing them in the fridge?

You'd think it would take less time to wait to use them if they're stored above freezing temp...

Well how about this, I will charge three sets of these batteries.

Then I'll use a Digital Multimeter to measure the charge just after I take them out.

Then I'll put one set in the fridge, the other in the freezer and the third I'll leave at room temperature.

Then we'll see what will happen in 1 week then in 1 month.

How about that?

What do you mean, how long do you think it would take for these to charge in your fast charger?

As I understand it..........Energizer 15 min charger only works w/ 15 min rechargeable Energizer batteries.

I still don't quite understand the technology.

A very reputable company (Thomas Distributing) sells what is widely considered among the digital camera community to be the best batteries and chargers available in the world today. (Powerex/Maha)

Until *they* come out w/ a 15 minute recharge system/batteries, I'd be a little leary of how credible the system really is.

???

Not true I been using the energizer quick charger for years now with the original batteries, Dynacharge, kingcell, duracell, and GP batteries on it. The Dynacharge batteries have seen the most on it and every singe one is about 3-4 years old charged numerous times and havent had a bit of trouble, low chages, leakage, or anything with them or any other ones as well.

I think this price is very good for these batteries and I wouldnt have any problems putting them on my quick charger at all since its the only one I have. Yes all of the batteries get very hot near the end of the charge and even if it was making them lose life the money I save is still worth it considering how many I and the kids use. I could use a few more and will save this thread when I have the funds and pick up andother 25-50 more. Wouldnt believe how many toys the kids and I own that need AA batteries and of course the 5 year old loves to pitch them when they are dead :p

My experience has been satisfactory so far. There is a big thread about this deal at FW and (as I recall) good feedback on their quality there.

For what it's worth, I'm very happy with all-battery's customer service. They forgot to include my AAA batteries with my order. They responded to my email within a few hours and sent me the AAAs by overnight mail, on their dime.
