Does it safe to leave my PC on for 24/7? especially my IDE HD (WB 800JB). can it do that kind of job? The whole system won't turn off, no standby mode except my monitor which will turn itself off after 10 mins...that's it..it's not a server nor super computer..it's just a normal desktop PC...I use my PC for around 10 hours per day..the rest of the time I just leave it there...So is it okay for me to leave it on 24/7?

This is an age old question and you will hear differing opinions on the subject. My machine, my wife's machine, and our server run 24/7, and have been for the past 5 years. I used to run my 386, 486, and P90 all day as well. I've had one cpu failure in my systems, and that was durring and overclocking exercise.

I can give you 5 reasons to leave it alone, and someone else will come up with another 5 why this is the worst thing to do ever. It's purely a matter of choice.

Yes, this topic has been discussed 100X times here. It will not hurt your computer. In fact, starting your computer up multiple times is more damaging to your computer than running it all the time.
