2310m & t6500

I'm a total newbie when it comes to processors, so pardon me for asking this.

Both i3-2310M and C2D-T6500 has 2.10GHz clock speed, but is there any significant difference on the performance?

Should I remain with my current T6500 laptop (Asus K50IN), or switch over to i3 (Asus A43SJ) now?

Please advice, thanks. :$

the i3-2310m is 2 generations newer of an intel cpu. it should be a lot faster at the same clock speed. it also has hyperthreading.

its a decent speed up/

the i3- 2310m is probably a small step up in speed also vs the Nvidia G102M, but games will support the Nvidia chip better

in short, I wouldn't bother with the upgrade, unless it was to ditch windows vista, or you were wanting better battery life.
