Hi All,
I am going to be getting an XBOX 360.

I have the option of either going for AOC branded:
23 inch LED 3d TV with 1080p resolution (FPR 3d and 4 glasses with it)
OR
32 inch Normal LED TV with a resolution of 1366x768

They are otherwise functionally identical (Same number of Input ports/ USB functionality etc)

I also intend to use this as my computer monitor in the room so 1080p seems attractive for that reason. however i can see the value of a physically larger screen for watching movies and playing games.

I would love to hear from people with any experience which justifies either purchase. Thank you !

since you're using it as a computer monitor, it'd probably be better to get the 23" 1080p.
1366x768 is pretty miserable for general work/web browsing and such.

It mostly depends on usage scenario. Is the computer mostly for gaming/movies? -> 32" 720p. Or is it going to be used for work or browsing the web more? 23" -> 1080p

Thank you @fralexandr... would you say its not that big a difference in screen size either when it comes to watching movies or playing games?

the screen size difference is pretty big. even going from 23" -> 28" is. My brother has a 28" 1920x1200 monitor, and almost fills my vision at normal sitting distances (eyes ~3ft away). ~27" is probably the biggest monitor I'd get if sitting at a computer desk. If you're sitting further away, bigger is fine.

Lets say i were to use this only for movies and the xbox, and occasional pc work, would it be better to get the 32 inch? Or does 3d mean more value + higher res. I intend to use a bit of the kinect as well

for only movies and xbox, 32" 720p. I don't care much for 3d though (I'm prone to headaches). The xbox 360 renders VERY FEW games in 1080p. Most games are rendered either 1080i or 720p.

I watch blurays and play ps3 on a 50" 720p plasma from ~6-10 ft away, and it looks great.

It really depends on how far away you're going to sit. 32" 1366x768 at 6-7 feet would be fine. (I still have an old Sony 32" at this resolution, and it works great for general television use.) 23" would be too small at this distance, and the resolution would be wasted (not able to see such small pixels from such distance). If it's sitting on your desktop (2-3 feet distance) then the 23" would be a good size and the resolution would be great. 32" would be too large, and 1366x768 resolution would be an eyesore.
