I don't know that there's a pizza in existence for which I'd subject myself to that long of a wait.

Papa John's is my favorite quick pizza place. Their Italian sausage pizza is what I usually get.

Same people that wait 45 minutes to save $4-5 on gas. I hear they're driving from Indianapolis to get in on this!

damn people, spend good money and buy good pizza, like from a place that uses a brick oven or coal burning oven. Truly americanized pizza like dominos, papa johns, and pizza hut makes me want puke.

but it's much more convenient. We Americans think of pizza in two ways: either as a true treat at a good pub or restaurant, one that makes it in a brick/wood oven (or just makes a damn good pizza, like a local pizza place in my hometown)... or as a quick meal that can be delivered or picked up for cheap. Typically pizza falls in the latter category.
I love a good Americanized pizza, just as much as I love a good treat... but very few places serve a wood-fire oven pizza... some fancier pubs and microbreweries will, but I have as of yet not found such a place locally, but I've been on vacation and gone to a pub that had a wood-fire oven and home-brewed root beer. That was a damn good meal, and would kill to have that again. :)

Papa Johns makes a decent pizza here, but there's no way I'm standing in line for hours to get one.

More proof people's time is not worth much to them, apparently. Kinda goes with that waiting at Costco for cheaper gas thread.

I would believe that. There are a bunch of idiots in Indianapolis.

Papa John's is the only major pizza chain that I like. I would be the one buying Papa John's pizza for everyone in the office. :D

I remember running a coupon book sale thing years ago in Detroit. We were selling papa johns cupouns and one of them was a "free pizza" cupon. anyway, we sold about 12 000 of these books in a little over 5 days @ 25$ a pop. Only stopped because corporate (I think) called us and told us to stop since they had to close stores since so many thousands of people were showing up for there free pizza. You guys are crazy over papa johns :p

Drove by one on the way home from work, the line was unreal. Their pizza is crap but if I could walk in/out in a few minutes and get one for .23 I would, just have to smother it with their decent garlic sauce.

QFT. Then again, for $.23, I'd eat a lot of things.

I did once, but no longer, because the Democrat always wins here anyway. Which is fine by me. Why are we trying to compare waiting 45 minutes to get a national leader versus 2 hours to have 1 meal and save $5? The longest I'd wait on that line is 30 minutes. Seriously, who in their right mind stands and waits 2 hours for a pizza?

This is one of the good things beer is for. 2hours for a pizza when drinking beer is not too bad.

So public consumption ftw?

Anyway, Pepsi & pizza are actually better. At least Pepsi doesn't have to be an acquired taste... whatever that means.

it's acquired by girls and those that shouldn't be drinking it

I never had to acquire a taste for it, it was almost a craving since I was a kid.

It's better than Pizza Hut and Dominoes, but that's not really saying much...
