I was hunting for a blues cd or two the other day, and stumbled across one helluva deal at Tower Records.
They have the 5 CD 'This Ain't No Tribute Blues Cube' box set for $29.99. This box has blues versions of songs by Led Zepplin, Bob Dylan, Eric Clapton, The Rolling Stones, and Janis Joplin. I've heard several tracks from each of the CDs, and haven't heard a bad one yet.
But the real kicker is the 18 CD 'Essential Shoebox Full Of Blues' box set for $49.99. This box contains every CD of the 'Essential' series that the House of Blues has put out.
Add in a $10 off $75 coupon from one of the usual suspects and it's a damn fine deal. The $5.95 2nd day shipping is just the icing on the cake. All told, it's 23 CDs for a grand total of $75.93. And if you're really feeling stingy, you can save an extra $2 by shipping ground...but comeon, you're not really that cheap, are you?
