$23.70 or $11.15?

So I just "won" a Ebay auction for a rear sliding window for my pick-up truck.

With in minutes of it closing I emailed the seller to give me the total with shipping costs. He responded saying the shipping would be $23.70 (This on a item I'm paying $20.00 for) yet when the the email from Ebay arrived the pay now option shows that shipping will be $11.15. Granted, either way this isn't a LOT of money, still, why would HIS shipping quote be more than double what Ebays shipping calculator shows it to be?

BTW: The Auction specifically states (Actual shipping costs, NO handling fees)
I did Email him back asking about the discrepancy, but I haven't received a reply yet. Though he DID reply right away to my first Email.

Think he's trying to Pad the sale price a bit?

you can just pay the ebay invoice (at the listed ebay price) or not deal with this selling fool.

Thats what I was thinking about doing. Still, I'll wait to hear back from him to see what his story is I guess. (I will probably STILL pay the invoice amount though)

if you pay the invoice amount and the seller refuses to ship, you can always file a complain to ebay. There was nowhere in his description that said that shipping was gonna be $23.70, right? All he had was the shipping calculator that quoted you the $11.15, right? If so, then the seller has absolutely no right to ask for the $23.70 shipping fee.

wtf did you even email the seller for shipping costs if a shipping calculator was included on the page?

I emailed him RIGHT at closing, before Ebay sent the invoice.

Should have waited. eBay sends closing auction emails instantaneously

Yeah, well I was camping to make sure I didn't get sniped.

Yes, there really ARE people out there who STILL do it the old fashion way! :Q😕

hmm yeap he is padding his sale. just send the right amount and contact ebay for excessive shipping amount!

Well I got another invoice from EBay with $23.70 as the shipping amount.

I paid the shipping and the price of the Auction.

The package was Guaranteed to arrive yesterday. NO SHOW. The Tracking number the seller gave me was no damn good either.

I just sent him a Email conveying my displeasure. 🙁
