Even a good 4TB model like that would be good, if they can bring down prices and improve performance. I am currently using 5 4TB Red Pros in my NAS, but those are fine for now. Still have plenty of room. If I were to upgrade the volume, I would probably go with 5 8-12 TB drives.

That's a hefty improvement over the current ~225MB/s I'm seeing on 8TB Red's. Hitting closer to 1/2 of what SATA can hit per cable. My array would jump closer to the 5gbps mark than its current 400MB/s+ speed. $600/drive though is a bit much compared to the $160/drive at 8TB I paid.

8TB - $20/TB
22TB - $27/TB

Coming down to ~$400 would make them more appealing as @igor_kavinski would say when I brought up 20TB drives as an option for $300 he pointed out 18TB options closer to $300.
