Check this. Congrats to Macci. The thread I found this info is here.

WOW 8288!! that is remarkable in my opinion

I'll squeeze more life out of Socket 423 yet :)

I liked Anand's article about the athlon MP's vs the Xeon P4's. How many FPS do you need anyways? Maybe for games down the line, like the new doom engine that's being created..

<edit> Oh yeah Fkloster, you should write to Anand and get him to make a P4 forum just for you ;) </edit>

Nice :D I wish I could break 8K in 3Dmark2000, let alone 2001 ;)

3Dmark2k1 may not be much of a game...but right now it's the only way of measuring performance under DirectX8. Apperently the P4 will be pretty rocking for games like Max Payne that use DX8 :)

Thats not very impressive considering the mhz he's running. Still a great score, but I would expect more with over 2.2ghz of cpu.

i honestly don't care what MHz it's running at, kudos for even being able to bring a chip out with that performance (well, not yet, but obviously it can be done) while no other manufacturer can...of course, that's only in 3dmark, which honestly doesn't say much for real world performance...nonetheless, the P4 tears up some of the gaming benchmarks....

I wonder if the GF3 was put at it's limit....
or if some other component was the bottleneck.

Formulav8, P4's will keep running @ faster clocks than the competition because of the 20 stage pipeline. It is starting to pay off in my opinion. Longer Pipeline + higher clock speeds = better performance in the long run. i.e. clock for clock performance will mean nothing in the future if P4's 20 stage pipeline allows Intel systems to harbor a 1ghz advantage in speed.

Parallel pipelines + low IPC + crossbar = better performance in the long run :)

What did I say about a clock for clock comparison? I don't recall saying anything about it. I just said I would expect better performance with such a high mhz.
