2200+XP as MP with a 2400+MP?

I have(had) a duallie 2400+ setup...for whatever reason, the 2nd cpu died. Its running on a single CPU now but I have an extra 2200+ laying around. will I be able to just go ahead and mod my 2200+ and OC it a little to the 2400+ speeds and be back up and running dual cpu's?

Thoughs? comments? concerns? 😛

they must be able to handle the same multiplier

the mp is unlocked, not sure about your 2200

worst case i think you can downclock your 2400 to match the 2200.

but if both are unlocked i personally would crank those babies up as high as it could go.

another thing to realise is that duallie boards generally arent as flexible or present as many options to the overclocker as a regular board, so your options might be limited.

I am pretty sure the 2200+ is not a Barton, so it shouldn't be super-locked. As Spikesoldier said your board might not have OCing options so you may have to use a pin mod or socket to adjust the mutliplier.
