2200+ on 8K3A+ showing EXTREMELY hot temp...

i just picked up a system with the above mentioned parts (it also has a thermalright SK6 cooler) and my cpu temp is showing 72C when the system is IDLE. this is way, way too hot for any cpu, even if it is an athlon. has anyone else seen temp readings this high on this board? i've already tried removing the hsf and reapplying it with new thermal compound and even reflashing to the latest bios. if it's the board reading incorrectly that's fine, but if the cpu is actually running this hot, i have a problem...
 
8K3A reports higher temps than most other boards. Its a common thread on forums. Search for '8K3A'. They say 8K3A reports 8-12C more. Mine seems so. I get 58-62C. However, ~ 70C does seem a bit high. Try and reseat the sink. Good Luck.
