What is a dead dead?

Nice. Too bad we couldn't arrange a meetup. With my recent change in work schedules I didn't even have time to give you a call. Enjoy the bike.

I'm going to venture a guess that you went to pick up a bike, couldn't you have found one locally?

Not for the price I got it for. 2001 with only 56 miles.....has never seen dirt.

Did you still save money after you factor in the cost of your trip?

So you would pay double the price to buy one locally with lots of miles on it????

In reality, not very dumb. Total trip cost: $168

How much would it have cost to ship the bike via a common freight carrier?

Most do not like to deal w/mortorcycles. I called.

Forward air was >$400

Plus anybody that know me knows I LOVE to go on long road trip. Hell....just ask Minendo about that.😉

Great deal on an almost-new dirt bike: $2,000
Hours driven to get to where the bike was being sold: 17
Realizing the bike doesn't fit in the minivan to get it home: Priceless.

😀 😀 😀

Actually, more in the range of $770. 2,200 miles * .35 per mile = $770.

$168 plus a severe risk to yourself, your dog, & any unfortunate soul who happened to be around you when you hit your limit.

Glad to hear it worked out, but it's not particularly bright. At minimum take someone with you next time. With two people it's not too bad, I drove cross country (Oregon to PA) in three days (2 x 30 hour sessions + an 8 hour break in the middle) with my brother, it worked out fine but neither of us ever drove for more than 4-5 hours straight.

+ the actual cost of putting 2200 miles on your van (maintenance, depreciation, etc)

But if you love road trips... to each his own I guess. 🙂 I hope you at least had someone with you, the last time I spent 11 hours in a car by myself I darn near went insane.

That's why I posted $770 above if you factor 2,200 miles at .35 per mile.
