22 wireless networks around my apartment building.

Better yet, the neighbor down the road has his wireless open and named by his last name and street address digits. For the love of god people. On a clear day I can connect to his network and surf.

Okay, wouldn't all the networs be called Linksys by default if everyone had linksys routers? Also wouldn't everyone's ip address be the same when you want to log into the linksys router and then type in the default admin passw to gain access to router settings? Anyone?

Nice choice, how well does it perform?

I haven't done any extensive testing or anything, but it's a ton better than the old D-Link card I had been using. Connection speed from my living room to my own network has gone up from 1-2mbps to 11mbps.

I'm curious, since you just now bought a wireless card, why get a b card instead of g (54mbps) ?

I don't do a whole lot of transferring files between my own PCs, and when I do, I just plug in a firewire cable and do it at 400mbps across the firewire cable. I just use wireless for internet access, and I don't anticipate having access to an internet connection faster than 11mbps any time soon.

i was gunna ask how many of those 22 were you able to connect to....

AIRPWN! Make them go :Q with a DONKEY SHOW!!!

Don't you need two cards to work airpwn, though?

Yep, one incoming, one outgoing.

But yeah, I concur, 22 networks is just too tempting to pass on the AirPwnage. 😀

My wireless isn't even secured, but it's not really my fault. I don't use it, and my genius brother decided he would set it up, I'm just too lazy to do anything about it.

Who doesn't have extra wireless cards? I've got 2 PCI (can get a third with a phone call), 1 USB, a second USB from my roommate, and probably a PCMCIA card from the roommate. Those are the extras anyhow. 😉

True, but it would be worth the cost of a second card. 😀

Probably not. Between me and my roommate we have about 10 computers. And that's only because I left some at my mom's house due to space constraints. 😛

It is great to be able to run different systems on different platforms without having to leave your home.

Definitely. Only 2 architectures here though: x86 and PPC. We do have Win2k3, win2k, OpenBSD, Linux, Mac OS X, and win98. 😉
