so im stuck between a gamut here...

on one hand, i am all for 1080p resolution and with Dell coming out with that new s2209w http://accessories.us.dell.com...dhs&cs=19&sku=320-7438 for a relatively reasonable price of 239, i want to jump on it

on the other hand, asus has their monitor thats 1680x1050 resolution on buy.com for 169.

This monitor is gonna be attached to my laptop dockingstation and i plan to be doing work mostly on it. I however do play WoW and CS sometimes and will consider cmoing back for wow when the expansion roles out.

i dont think my laptop, e6400, will handle the 1080p all that well or even the 1680x1050 as a matter of fact.

what im asking is which do you think i should go for? are there better monitors out there at the 22" range and about 200?

and how does running wow at lets say 1680x1050 look on a 1080p monitor?

does the downscalingmake it really ugly?

I like that 22'' with the 1920 resolution. If I were in your position i'd spring for the cheaper 22'' (just bought a 22'' on woot.com for $155 shipped for a friend), if you wait until you get closer to black friday and xmas they'll be really cheap.

No, don't buy the Asus. The Dell is the best value for the money.

Dude. GET THE DELL!!!!!

Lenovo has an S-PVA 22" that does Full HD as well, but the Dell is less than half the cost.

You cannot go wrong with Dell. I swear, if you don't get the Dell, I'll have to hunt you down. :D
