Hi, im about to buy a new 22" monitor and i found myself between 2 models at newegg. the Dell S2309W, samsung toc220. Im really confudes about what would be the pros and cons of a 1680x1050 over a 1920x1080, i already own a 19" samsung 906bw and its been a good experience so i know sammy is good. Please let me know what you think, is gaming at 1920x1080 way better than 1680x1050??? the desktop space is better? is it good that a 22" monitor has these high resolution? will it make things too small?? desktop stretched? these are some questions I would like you to help me find out. By the way I have a XFX GTX260 black edition (216 core) so i guess that would be enough for gaming at 1920x1080.

Here are the links, also if you have more options, be my guest!

Thank you very much

LCD picking thread right above you, remember?

Anyway, I hear all sorts of great things about the LG 226wt models. I looked at a few different 22' monitors and I thought 1680 x 1050 was a good res for them. The difference with the 1920 x 1080 monitor is that it is wider, not taller.

I am not an LCD expert, I recommend you wait for someone else to reply.

I got the Samsung 2253LW at Costco for $200. I like it

My advice, buy from someplace with a good return policy (I buy lots of stuff on the net, would only buy a monitor locally). Some people are real picky about the image quality.

Boy this is that some good advice. I just went through the buying process for a 22" LCD and had to return several to Amazon and Newegg for various reasons - not fun. I finally bought mine at a local Office Depot just because the return process would be much easier.

I got an HP w2207h. Great monitor. Deep blacks, very vivid colors, height and pivot adjustable stand. Got it for $249.98 on sale. Didn't come with an HDMI-DVI cable, but that was the only minus.
