22' Dual Widescreen Monitor setup. Too Wide?

I currently have a dual monitor setup with 17' LCDs, with prices going down i am thinking of upgrading to 22' dual screen monitors! Does anyone else have same setup also? or is it just too wide! Total cost should come under $600.

I have a 22" and 19" dual monitor setup that I really like since hte height of the 19" is about equal to the 22" widescreen. For my desk two 22"widescreen would be overbearing but I think if I had a nice large open desk it would be nice. Really depends on your space.

For under 600 dollars you must be getting some not so good 22" monitors I would suggest getting on really good 22" monitor and then taking it from there

My personal preference:

I HATE widescreen LCD monitors. I miss the height of the older "standard" monitors when working on documents and browsing web pages. I much prefer dual standard-aspect monitors over dual widescreen monitors.

I just got a 22" LCD for 200$ and I love it. I think having another one would be a little excessive (as of now I have a 22" and a 17").

It's all up to whether or not you have the desk space and the $$$.

Ummm...rotate the display?

I currently use a 24inch LCD with a 19inch CRT on each side. It is not too wide for me.
The only issue I see with 22inch LCDs is that they are kinda low resolution, so things might look "too big" on them.

But I felt that way about my 24inch before I got used to it. (I was used to 1600x1200 on 19inch CRTs)

Everybody hates the punctuation police, but it's funny to read your post literally. Those are some big-ass screens!

Maybe he intends a home theater system?

Nah, i don't think it'd be too wide.

Then again, i have 4960x1600 total pixels on my desk (1200x1600 of those are on the secondary PC) 😉
