I think it's a decent monitor for its price. There are certainly other and better monitors but for more money.

I've got the X193 and so far I like it (for just a tad over $100. on the pre Christmas deals). You could have gotten the 223 for a better price (after rebates and other deals) before Christmas. It's the same price as the Costco listing at Newegg right now - free ship from the Egg and may save you sales tax as well - yup, I see you live in NY, so no tax plus you'll get it overnight if it can ship from their NJ warehouse. Nearly 80% 5 star ratings on the Egg (with nearly 1000 total ratings), so I guess the buyers seem to like it. I'd have preferred if they had double boxed it, but I'm sure it would have cost more to ship if they did that. IAC, my 193 got here from NJ in perfect condition (central NY, ~30 mi. south of Syr.)

I was planning on using it for gaming, yes. Why, is this monitor not suitable for gaming?

I bought this monitor yesterday for $178 CDN to use on 2nd pc for gaming (its a gaming station pretty much). Monitor is excellent for that purpose, but the viewing angles aren't great. Vertically it gets dark very fast from below and pretty fast from above, horizontally its not awful but you lose some brightness and viewability from ~45 degrees where my other cpu is, but its not that bad. I'm quite happy with it for the price, and my main monitor is a Benq fp241w.
