212+ backing plate hitting case

I'm assembling my computer hardware... once I mounted the backing plate for the 212+ CPU cooler on the mobo, and then mounted the mobo... I noticed the backing plate is contacting the metal partition in the HAF922 case. Is this going to be a problem?

Mine does the same. Its just up against it, not really bending or obstructing anything. You may just have to remove the mobo if you are planning to install a different cooler.

Just checking... thanks, guys.

No, once this thing is in... it's there to stay.

Let's just say the 212's instructions leave a bit to be desired...

Good thing its really straight forward to install 🙂

Try installing an Antec Kuhler 620 in your case. There were like 20 pieces to install with double sided tape I had to use with the backplate. I got it all installed to find out that it had a bad pump! Peeling the backplate off was rocket science because the 3m adhesive tape they give you is as strong as the tape they use for car molding, and not to mention the residue it leaves after you rip it off. I went back to my CM Hyper 212+ and I am not looking back.😎

This is my first install, so confidence was not on my side... I did NOT want to damage my new mobo... 😳

Jeepers... they use 3M adhesive? I'm surprised it didn't pull the cover off the CPU... 😵
