So I was thinking of upgrading my motherboard to a NF7-S as my rma'ed 8rda+ wont do over 200fsb.

However, i was goingto sell my 8rda+ for $40 and buy the aBit for $60 (tricked out with mods) for a net cost of $20

Someone on another forum pointed out though that newegg had a 3400+ A64 Venice plus Biostar Board for $99 shipped total.

How much performance gain would I see with this chip over the 2100 @2.3 ghz (220-240fsb)

I could sell my 8rda+ and 2100+ to alleviate the cost, what do you think

I just want to be able to use my Twinmos pc3200 ddr ram with the new board.

One last thing, i was able to play COD2 and Fear with good resolution and med-high settings on my current rig

I'm rockin a 3400+ from that deal. Mine was $110 though :(

I noticed a good boost in performance over the Sempron 3100+ that I had been using before. The Sempron really felt like a side grade from the Barton 3000+ that I was using before that.

I ended up selling off the Sempron with the Gigabyte board that I opted for. The board worked perfectly fine for the time that I had it though, had it crunching Folding@home for a couple weeks before I decided to sell it off.

A Skt. 754 3400 is 2.4 Ghz, with 512KB of L2 cache. It's roughly twice as fast as a 2.3 Ghz Socket A chip. I upgraded from a 2.5 Ghz XP-M to a Skt. 754 3700 (2.4 Ghz, 1MB L2), and there was no comparing the two. My framerates nearly doubled, with exactly the same RAM and video card.
