$210 for a $140 ticket...

Back in July, I got my first ticket(failing to completely stop at a stop sign)...finally got it in the mail this week. To avoid having it go on my record I have to pay a $170 court fee + $40 @ the traffic school. Obviously I know in the long run, I will quickly make up for it by not increasing my insurance rates, but it's a PITA. :|

Traffic school was a joke too...took all of 20 minutes. What was everyone's first ticket? Did you pay it off? Go to traffic school? or fight it?

Meh, that's nothing. When the Cubs play at Milwaukee, the $10 bleacher seats sell for $125!

On topic: Yeah, I did traffic school when I got a ticket in Chicago. Its worth every penny to keep it off your record.

lol, didn't realize until your post that my title could have also been for a scalped sports ticket.

I was driving my car home, right after purchasing it. The guy I bought it from never renewed the registration or the inspection stickers, and I was going to do it that day. Hadn't had the car and hour and motorcycle cop pulled me over. Told him my situation. He told me to tell it to the judge and wrote me the ticket. I told it to the judge, and he dismissed it.

lol, that is harsh...but at least the judge understood the situation.

Yeah, the judge was real nice. Wasted a whole day there, because there were so many people waiting in the courtroom. I was one of the last. The cop, your average motorcycle cop. I was really nice, and respectful. I guess he was just having a bad day.

My first ticket was for 5 over while delivering a pizza to Bethesda Naval Hospital. Those cops there have a real hard-on for handing out tickets, I discovered.

And the fvcking jarheads that ordered the pizza stiffed me. :|

Is jarhead slang for a hospital worker? 😕 I've never heard that term before.
