ancient post

Sorta nostalgic as it reminds me of the early days. BBS's and all. I clicked on the author's name and it listed a bunch of other posts he made in 1982 and 1983.

Yeah I'm bored but I found this all to be very interesting.

BTW, this was blatantly ripped from a post over at IGN where the vast majority of posters were born long after this post was made.

Wow talk about being careful what you post because your old info never dies! Anyway I felt it was interesting. That was the true beginning of this whole phenomenon that we all enjoy. I read stuff like that and wonder if he's still around..what he's up to and thinks of todays games compared to yesteryear.

Just a nostalgic fool I tell ya!

Google bought the rights to Dejanews a couple of years ago. Apparently Dejanews had all these old posts stored in archived databases. Google was able to implement a much faster search engine and decided to open these old archives to the public.

"Revenge of the Jedi"... Episode 6 in the Star Wars saga, has
just finished filming, according to some friends I have down in
Arizona.

The release date for us humans that want to see it is
still the summer of 1983. I guess it takes that long to score
all the music, do all the film-editing, prepare all the promo
material, and all that junk.

I wish Lucas & Co. would get the thing going a little faster.
I can't really imagine waiting until 1997 to see all nine parts
of the Star Wars series.

Here's a trivia question for other fellow addicts of Star Wars:

Most everyone knows that the original "Star Wars" was
episode 4 in the series, and "The Empire Strikes Back"
was episode 5.

Who out there knows the new correct TITLE of Episode 4?

Don't get me wrong -- the thing is still called Star Wars
by millions of people, but there is a specific title that
tells what episode 4 is about. That's what I'm looking
for.

I'll publish the correct title in about a week.

P.S. How many people have seen SW more than 22 times in the theatre,
or at triple speed on video tape (boy, that's fun)?

edit: First thread about AIDS is pretty interesting.

Man, probably more than 50% of the people on this board weren't even alive when that post was made! :Q

I am old enough to remember 1982 (I'm 29 years old), but I can't picture what that guy is talking about....

I am 32 I have been posting through BBS and arpa/milnet since about 1983....if I could only remember my handles then I could find probably a few posts older than 1995 (I can find a lot up to that, but none before).

How would you like to have this ill-informed post immortalized in the usenet archives?
