21" vs 22"

whats with the 22" crt's lately.
it seems to be advertised like a major thing, but the viewable has gone nowhere.
and as far as i can tell the 21" tube are cheaper on the hole than 22's.
 
There like the same thing viewable. Just different companies I suppose, like Mitsubishi has some 21" ones and so does Sony.
 
The difference is a 22? is flat. When you measure the tube edge to edge iy gains approximately an inch. This is not as important as viewable area, where many 21? monitors have a larger viewable area then 22?. Its mostly marketing.
