Ok so i'm in the market for 21in monitor, (we really need a separate forum for requesting help), and I think i've finally whittled down my choices to a manageable number, but its still driving me nuts. I guess i'm asking for advice if you have experiance with any of these monitors, and if you don't just a reality check is fine.
-Corner Stone P1650 Top listed in meta review, last years displaymate champ with the P1600, company reccomended by friend: he feels diamondtron tube is better than the trinitron he uses. 5 Year warrenty
-Mitsubishi Diamond Pro 2060U Current displaymate champ (the people who make the programs most testing sites use to review monitors), and other various positive reviews
-DELL P1130 21" CRT Can get for extremely cheap, only$510 (orig 799) shipped, the HP 1120 is well recommended I suspect HP and Dell are rebadging the same monitor, Comparable to the HP 1120? ***only comes with a one year warrenty, might be able to to extend for a price, but would diminish the price/quaility ratio, need to call and ask about that***
-Hitachi CM828 Most top reviews, 5yr warrenty, does not claim to be flat, shadow mask, but all crts are going to be discontinued from them
Some of the websites I used for research
http://wsj.consumersearch.com/computers/monitors_21_inch/fullstory.html
http://www.pcpro.co.uk/thane/front_flash.php
http://www.displaymate.com/best.html
as you can see trying to keep it somewhat below $800
Other monitors I researched
P220F-2/P225F-2/P225 (were considered of the same quailty of the CM828 but just more expensive)
Iiyama Vision Master Pro 512 (compareable to the 2060u, some like this one better, more overall it seem more liked the 2060u)
Sony Multiscan CPD-G520P 21" (thought this was the monitor i was going to get, rather lackluster reviews and stories of recent sony quality control issues gave me cold feet)
Samsung 1200NF (not enough reviews)
NEC-Mitsubishi MultiSync FE1250+ / FP1355 (not enough reviews)
P1750 (2060u seems to be better for the price)
