I just received the P1130 from Dell and must say that it's the absolute best monitor that I've ever used. I also have the P1110 from Dell.

My question is, what is the proper way to make the screen the right size? When I switch the settings to 1280x1024 I have black bars on the sides of the screen that are about 1 1/2 inches wide. When I adjust the settings on the monitor to make if fit, it stretches the text out like silly puddy. Is there a better way?

Try adjusting the refresh rate, too, that helps the picture fit more towards the edges of the screen.

Fastball, does your monitor have BNC connectors on the back of it, or just the standard video connector? Also, if you don't mind me asking, how much was that beast?

No, it just has the standard video connector. It was $749 less 25%. Good deal if you ask me.

Fastball, how'd you get 25% off? Was it a coupon or something? Also does it have two of the standard connectors on the back? Thanks again!

They had a special in the "accessories store" that ended last week. Keep your eye out though b/c they run specials pretty often. Yes, it has two inputs in the back.

Windows is supposed to be displayed in a 4:3 aspect ratio. That is also the aspect ratio of your monitor. 1280x1024 is 5:4. Therefore, things will get stretched out of proportion to what is "normal." Either set your resolution to 1280x960, 1600x1200, or live with the stretched out screen.
