I just received my NEC 20WMGX2 monitor. There is this tad of a blurry mark on the screen that just will not come out. Its slightly larger than a pixel and is consistantly grey.

My guess is that its a piece of dust or something on the inside of the Opti-Clear screen. Is there any way to get to this???

Hm.........I don't know. The last thing I've thought about is taking apart my NEC. Have you tried lightly rubbing the area? If it is indeed some sort of pixelation discoloring rubbing the area might make it give way. If it isn't, then maybe simply rubbing it could make th supposed piece of dust fall out of view. ??????? That or RMA it. I wouldn't settle for it if it had a defect to that extent that wasn't going away after I paid as much as the NEC costs.

yea, its about the size of a pixel but i dont think its a dead pixel as it doesnt have a clear squarish shape to it.

It is kinda of round and dull of greyish, and seems like its sitting in front of the pixels. Very small and faint to see.

if its enough of a bother, you can always call NEC. I heard their service is excellent. 3yr warranty, btw.

yea, i just took my glasses off and stared very closely at the screen.

Im 100% sure its not a dead pixel. Its just something on the inside of the screen.

But i think i will run dead pixel buddy for a while to possibly get the fan moving back there. Could work.

But its definatley not a dead pixel.
