I must confess that I was moved to post this article in no small part because of the writing. I love and appreciate good writing. I invite you all to read this.

Nitwits on both ends of our political spectrum will surely find passages to be outraged about.

That's a sure sign of good writing!

Some excerpts:

On September 11, 1998, millions of Americans took a break from their daily newspaper to rush online and download the “Referral to the United States House of Representatives pursuant to Title 28, United States Code, § 595(c).” At several hundred pages, the Starr Report dwarfed the capacity of a print edition, plus everyone wanted to skip to the dirty stuff. Like a porn DP positioning his lens in the trickiest of hollows, Kenneth Starr, four years along in his role as independent counsel, was offering an unprecedented glimpse into a sitting president’s groin.

Even before his report dropped, Starr had made himself into a caricature, like the crusading priest who, in his quest to understand the vices of men, spends every night in a stripper joint. If pornography is defined as sexual content for the purpose of titillation alone, without any redeeming social value, then in olden days Starr might have had to share a cell with Al Goldstein and Larry Flynt.

Few Americans would be able to lay out how the president’s dalliance with an intern could have become a legal matter in the first place, and those who could are heavily medicated.

It all should have stopped much sooner, but no one could quit his obsession. Part of the problem was that Clinton, much like the current president, drove sane people mad. The simplest explanation, necessarily speculative, is this: people will accept an upstanding enemy or a roguish friend, but they won’t accept a roguish enemy. For Republicans, Clinton was the latter. He prevaricated as easily as he breathed, and he played cute with the law. Even many liberals, especially liberal journalists, found Bill and Hillary to be like a swerving semi with an insouciant driver. You pull over the truck and the driver says it’s not illegal to swerve a little within your lane, and, besides, he’s happy to take a blood-alcohol test, if you just give him a second to run to the men’s room. He returns a day later.

Did Clinton try to protect Lewinsky once the cover was blown? Ha. But even Lewinsky wound up being taken aback by the promptness with which she found herself under the tires of the Clinton bus. Senior advisor Sidney Blumenthal later testified that Clinton told him Lewinsky “was known as the stalker among her peers.” It was to repair this unfortunate reputation, Clinton explained, that Lewinsky made up stories about having had an affair with the president. Who could want to disbar such a man?

Im'a stop now. Just, you know, read it!

Well given we have a Russian adminstration not an American one, I wouldn't be surprised if we have to cleanse our country by removing every judge they appointed.

If they still want a war.. we can give em one.
