~20min into a Netflix stream, it pauses/stuters on HDD access?

Has anyone ever had this? It seems like it's defragging in the background, or at least that's my best guess. After I start a movie it will play, then the HDD light will come on and freeze the laptop for a video for a second then continue. This is an old Toshiba laptop, not the machine listed in my signature which experiences no issues with Netflix.
I tried to look into possible reasons and I can only think of background defragging, which I can't find where to turn off. The drive says that it's scheduled for 1am, not idle defragmentation. This is on Windows 7.

Go to your "Computer" where it shows all your harddrives and CD drives and such. Right click on your C: drive go to Properties then Tools then Defragment Now then to Configure Schedule then unclick Run on Shcedule or input a different schedule if you wish.
