$20k For a Car...

MAME

Thoughts on a sedan with a manual transmission for around $20k?

I suppose a coupe would do if it was a good deal.

Considerations: reliable, peppy, not overly fuel hungry

So far I've found slim pickings...

Hyundai Sonata V6 manual is peppy. 235 horsepower or thereabouts? good gas mileage too

Nm, auto only in the v6, guess my memory is hazy

New SRT-4? Used Subaru WRX non-STI?

not a fan of domestics...a neon is not what I had in mind for $20k

WRX is a good idea, and fits my need, but they're just so very ugly 🙁

I saw one today, it was gorgeous. It wasn't more than 3 feet tall. You see them in pictures but they do the real thing no justice, just a beautiful car.

3ft tall??

I was so low to the ground, the guy had to have been laying down in that car. Looked like a Diablo VT

Seriously?

What? He didn't say if he wanted a large, midsized or compact sedan. Get your mind out of the gutter! 😉

And take a look at used Subaru Legacys (2005 or newer). It's a great car, but it gets hit with large depreciation.

Edmunds got 20mpg with the GT version, which isn't bad for an AWD car with 250hp. The NA version is fairly quick and get a decent increase in mpg.

Even at 20, with Premium, it's a very expensive ride
