That's right, $19,500k out the door. People who don't realize how fun these are think that is crazy, I figured this would be the place that understood the least of all.

I actually have to keep the Shelby GT500 on the driveway for now because I don't have room for it in the garage.

So how stupid was this to buy a glorified golf-cart for this much?

For reference, this is what Rzrs do:

Probably a smarter buy than a $50k sand rail but not much diffent than a pair of jetskis on a trailer.

Now you just gotta figure out a way to get a license plate on that thing and drive it on over to Slater's ;)

Sounds like you know the area! You can't go into Slaters as a Packers fan though ;)

Im actually surprised someone here knows what a sandrail is, my faith in ATOT is restored.

You won the thread. Sorry OCGuy, nice brag thread attempt though. :awe:

What is the opposite of a brag thread? I don't think it is bragging when 99% of people think they are stupidly over-priced. Hell even I think that, but they hold their value.

You can get a decent Jeep for that much.

Mention performance car for the 50th time coupled with "I have to even park it outside right now because I bought this crappy toy for 20 gees, no problem, yeah its a terrible value but hey, what's money?"

Hey, I certainly can't blame ya, sure beats spending the $20k on a used M3. :whiste: I did notice you forgot to give us an itemized breakdown of the costs, how much for tax, warranty?

Wow, you were actually being serious this whole time? There's plenty of gearheads and generally knowledgeable people here, can't believe you were surprised someone knew what a sandrail is.

Not a brag thread at all. I went thru plenty of sea doos back in the 90's and I ain't rich.

Aside from my knowledge of the old Pismo Beach days of watching $50k (now $100k) rails drop out of enclosed trailers, today it's far more elaborate.

$100k rail inside a $30k toy box towed behind a $300k diesel pusher. Now THAT'S a brag thread.

It's actually his GF's car, but he'll never say that in the post. :awe: (the 500GT)

So, did you actually buy the sand rail?

In ATOT? All I see are trolling foreigners and whiney kids who don't go outside much.

There are other sub-forums on this board that I wouldn't say that about, but my posting was specific to OT.

You think magically a bunch of gearheads showed up after they made The Garage subforum? Those people posted in OT before and most still do pretty regularly.

My god man, you're sucking all the fun out of giving you shit.

And hey, ATOT may be a festering cesspool, but at least we don't have to wade through car analogies.

I see it the same as a boat.
Expensive recreational vehicle that gets used 3 times a year and takes up half of the garage.

Probably this. But you never know this guy might be an avid offroader type and use it quite a bit.

Btw OP does your wife truly appreciate the GT 500 for the bad ass piece of machinery it is or is it just a shiny car that gets attention? There really out to be a rule that only Mustang enthusiasts can drive and own gt 500, cobras, etc..

buy used. It will be used after the first use.

Brag thread would have been -bro I just picked up a used rail for 6k and a 04 Cobra for 24k. Used some of the savings to put a Kenne Bell SC and tune on athe 04 for moar power than a GT500. I saved 70K liek a boss!

I would love to have 20K for a "new" used Accord.

For the same 20K, a 3rd world person could buy a car, house and food for a year. :)

It's fun to look at money usage comparisons.

No thanks. I'd rather have an 1199 Panigale or a 2012 Multistrada 1200 S.

It is taking the place of my Dirtbike, I can no longer afford to get hurt. I have a 24 foot toy- hauler and friends with toys so I will be going a lot.

As to your 2nd point...well she came from a Mustang GT, and named one of our dogs Shelby (before she had the new car)...so she appreciates them.

Does she drive it up to its potential? No, but that is what I am for. :)

Fuck those things. My friend brought one to a campout and thought I was going to die. Too fast, too drifty, too insane and no HELMET! I swear, I am atheist but I was praying pretty hard in the back seat of that damn thing. Boulders were flying by at over 60mph on a narrow, rocky desert path with unexpected hairpin turns. Can't believe he didn't crash.
I CAN say that these vehicles are amazing. They take the roughest terrain like a cadillac. I mean, driving over rocks the size of basket balls and you barely feel a thing.
His was exactly like the one in the picture.
