And now we have an Italian opera singer serenading the trump family as they look on. I wish I was making that up.

From what little of it I caught they, especially Trump, are using the "Willie Horton" playbook, although protest's are certainly called for again due to the Blake killing, looting and burning are not. Trump should send these people a huge thanks, it's laughable trump claims "goodbuy to your 2nd amendment rights!" when before him was a two-term liberal democrat and not a single gun was taken from anyone. Shit, Obama's election did more for gun sales than anything in decades.

Since I refused to listen to any of this bullshit live from what I picked up from the cliff notes.

Trump says re-elect me because if you elect Biden you will have violence and lawlessness in the streets, which he claims daily we are having now and is not doing anything about it but will solve if if re-elected. Then is you point out all this shit is happening on your watch he blames it on the states or cities. So if he is re-elected how would anything change??

amirite?

James Carville, right now on MSNBC, is saying/agreeing we need to
tell the public that THIS is the orange menace's America. This is his watch, his fuck up and he owns it.
Remind people every day of this fact. Biden doesn't have jack to do with what's going on

Slain Africian American police officer David Dorn, whose death Trump politicized tonight by bringing his wife to speak at RNC, was not a Trump supporter and likely believed Trump to be a racist. His kids have spoken out against their stepmother speaking at RNC about their dad:

This is worthy of being on the network/cable news.
Bring Mr. Dorn's daughters to speak on this, if they are willing.
The orange menace doesn't give a shit about the Dorns. They are just props.

he's rewriting everything, the lies are coming faster than any fact checker could possibly counter.
CNN fact checker Daniel Dale went on for like 3-4 minutes disputing all the lies he said. Anderson at the end, oh that’s it?

"People" is as far up the media food chain as it has gotten so far, but they just spoke out today.

“Our father did not agree with many policies and actions of this president that are aimed at disenfranchising many Black and Brown people,” Lisa continued. “Our father was a registered Democrat. He thought Trump is doing many things to ruin our country.”

I suspect it will migrate to other outlets tomorrow.

Maybe the Lincoln Project will incorporate some of this into a piece.

Maybe Trump can expand on his 46% from 2016 but not seeing much evidence that he's trying very hard from this convention. All the African American outreach seems largely centered on refuting the perception that he is a horrible racist not any particular policy aims that would benefit that voting segment. The entire proposition of this convention is that he's not responsible for the state of the country which to all but the faithful is a somewhat tough sell.

46% is enough for a narrow EC win if there are 3rd party candidates drawing off a decent chunk of the vote. Not the case this year and looking back at 2012 Romney's 47.2% only netted him 206 EVs. Trump can still of course win but it looks like he's got more work to do than he probably appreciates.

Watched a summary of this shit show called the RNC.

I wasn't really expecting anything of substance at all, and they did not disappoint. Had all the look and feel of a scientology fundraiser run by people on temp leave from a mental ward. The sheer number of lies and absolute bullshit even in that shorter format was close to amazing. It's like these people have been living on another planet for four years, still are.

Still laughing at the party of Dunning Kruger trying to convince voters to save America from Trump's effects on the nation by... voting for Trump again.

Donny Jr looked like he was dipping into Dad's supply of teleprompter vitamins, I think his particular brand of pompous idiocy may have been my favorite over all. So much fail packed into one small weak package, I bet his gf screams at him a lot.

Damn... watching MORNING JOE, and some of Trump that they re-aired, damn is Donald Trump afraid of Joe. This guy Trump is so worried and terrified of Joe Biden that Trump tossed everything including the kitchen sink at Joe. I’m shocked that Donald did not accuse Joe Biden for the Holocaust, the 1918 flu epidemic, and assassinating JKF. But THANK GOD it is over.

Now, the only thing left is where America stands. Have enough Americans fallen into the Trump cult, enough to re-elect Donald Trump again, or is Donald Trump’s support just an illusion as with everything else concerning Donald Trump??? Is there no hope? Is this the end, my friend? Stay tuned for November.

I guess it speaks to their lack of ability to argue anything else on the merits but it is a VERY strange message to argue 'if Joe Biden is president the same horrible things will happen as when I'm president'.

It's a good thing that logic and evidence means absolutely nothing anymore.

I think the dog whistle here is that he's blackmailing his voters to support brown shirts on the street: There is violence and lawlessness now, it's the socialist liberals, of course, so Biden won't do anything about it. I'm not doing anything until you elect me, at which point I can do whatever the fuck I want because of term limits.

Expect plain-clothes GRU agents all over US streets piling out of black vans and whisking away "instigators," never to be seen again, the day after Trump wins the election. He won't wait until inauguration. He will do it immediately because he knows that the GOP will dare not refuse the fascism that they support anyway.

I fully believe that this is what he is telling his voters, and the GOP fully supports, with this messaging. I mean, it's the only way it makes sense, trying to spin the current reality into somehow democrats' fault, and the patent refusal for the GOP admin to do anything about it as also the democrats' fault.
