My Nexus 7 is all but dead. The tablet would freeze on the google bootup screen and i won't be able to do anything for it until further notice. i give up.

I can spend up to $400. Whats a good android tablet as a replacement? I'd prefer screen to be 7-8in. mostly due to the fact that they're cheaper than anything larger. But am open to larger screens if they're the same price as the exact smaller one.

I do not game, i only browse the net, social media, chromecast, netflix, hulu, and shop on amazon on my tablet. it also rarely leaves my home as i'll be getting only a wifi version.

what are you recommendations?

I'm quite happy with my Galaxy Tab S2 9.7". I believe there's a WiFi only 8" version.

I have the $50 Fire tablet and it works very well. It even has a 128 GB-capable microSD slot if you want to load your music library or carry around some non-steaming movies.

The built-in speaker is not great, but sound through the headphone jack or over bluetooth is good.

Mine is the 4G version through TMo. $650 is retail IIRC but I got it on sale. Super, super smooth but if you're only using Netflix, it's probably over kill. Screen is really nice. Battery lasts me about 8 hours playing Netflix on 4G.

I got my mom a Fire Tablet for Christmas last year. Can't complain about it considering the price tag but it's not remotely in the same class.

That's got to be one expensive data-plan, to watch video on cell-phone internet.

I've only got 1GB 4G data on T-Mobile, and once watched one video (video game commercial / trailer for a new game), and then I ran out of data.

Family plan with BingeOn.

Got the galaxy tab s2 as per the suggestions. So far the OS has been light and smooth. Wish the os had more customization options like the one plus one tho

It's not so much bloatware per say as annoyanceware.

Briefing was the first thing to go. Notifications for breaking news and no way to disable it. I don't want my tablet beeping at me while I'm sleeping because some celeb broke a nail or something. Samsung's browser was next because it refused to accept that I prefer Chrome. I disabled a few of the other items simply because I have no use for them, such as Ant Radio.
