5 weeks to go in the regular season, we have more than a large enough sample size to speculate on who will be in the post-season and what they'll do. Here's current as of week 13 standings:

AFC seeding and week 13-17 opponents:

1. NE (10-1); PHI, @HOU, TEN, @NYJ, @MIA.
2. CIN (9-2); CLE, PIT, @SEA, @DEN, BAL
3. DEN (9-2); @SD, OAK, @PIT, CIN, SD
4. IND (6-5); @PIT, @JAX, HOU, @MIA, TEN

Wild Card Race:

5. KC (6-5); @OAK, SD, @BAL, CLE, OAK
6. HOU (6-5); @BUF, NE, @IND, @TEN, JAX
7. NYJ (6-5); @NYG, TEN, @DAL, NE, @BUF
8. PIT (6-5); IND, @CIN, DEN, @BAL, @CLE
9. OAK (5-6); KC, @DEN, GB, SD, @KC
10. BUF (5-6); HOU, @PHI, @WAS, DAL, NYJ
11. JAX (4-7); @TEN, IND, ATL, @NO, @HOU
12. BAL (4-7); @MIA, SEA, KC, PIT, @CIN

NFC seeding and week 13-17 opponents:

1. CAR (11-0); @NO, ATL, @NYG, @ATL, TB
2. ARI (9-2); @STL, MIN, @PHI, GB, SEA
3. MIN (8-3); SEA, @ARI, CHI, NYG, @GB
4. WAS (5-6); DAL, @CHI, BUF, @PHI, @DAL

Wild Card Race
5. GB (7-4); @DET. DAL, @OAK, @ARI, MIN
6. SEA (6-5); @MIN, @BAL, CLE, STL, @ARI
7. ATL (6-5); @TB, @CAR, @JAX, CAR, NO
8. TB (5-6); ATL, NO, @STL, CHI, @CAR
9. NYG (5-6); NYJ, @MIA, CAR, @MIN, PHI
10. CHI (5-6); SF, WAS, @MIN, @TB, DET
11. STL (4-7); ARI, DET, TB, @SEA, @SF
12. DET (4-7); GB, @STL, @NO, SF, @CHI

Only sure thing is that the Pats are AFCE division champs unless they lose out and BUF wins out, which is highly unlikely IMHO. So that leaves the predictions:

AFC:

1. NE (13-3) have more trouble than they should winning their next 3 games, drop the last two meaningless ones after locking up top seed.
2. DEN (12-4); lose to a scrappy SD team, and rest their starters week 17.
3. CIN (11-5); split with PIT and beat the lousy Ravens but no one else.
4. IND (9-7); lose to WAS and CLE but beat HOU for the AFCS crown.
5. PIT (9-7); split series with CIN, win the games they're supposed to.
6. HOU (9-7); beat the crap teams like BAL and TEN, but get their asses handed to them by Indy and Jax (twice).

Out:

Jets (8-8); lose to MIN, NE, MIA
KC: (8-8); wheels fall off and get pummeled by the likes of DEN and ARI
OAK (8-8); pocket nice wins against GB and KC down the stretch.

NFC:

1. CAR (13-3); split series with ATL, lose to NYG, and drop meaningless game to TB in week 17.
2. ARI (12-4); lose to Minny and 'Hawks.
3. MIN (11-5); get embarrassed at home by CHI and lose to GB in week 17.
4. WAS (8-8); split series with DAL and lose to CHI.
5. SEA (9-7); lose to Vikes and STL who always play NFCE opponents tough
6. DET (8-8); win out besides SF, beat GB for the final wildcard slot based on head-to-head record.

Out:

GB (8-8); Aaron Rodgers wrist hurts his performance still more than it already has this year, only tops 200 yards twice more and 6 TD for remainder of season.
ATL (7-9); Matt Ryan's implosion continues and end the year getting steamrolled by CAR and then NO.
TB (7-9); Wins at NO and CHI but nowhere else.

Wildcard Weekend:

SEA @ WAS
DET @ MIN
HOU @ CIN
PIT @ IND

Division Weekend:

SEA @ CAR
MIN @ ARI
PIT @ NE
CIN @ DEN

Conference Championship:

ARI @ CAR
CIN @ NE

Super Bowl

CIN @ ARI; A surprisingly good Bowl; Andy Dalton continues his surprising run of good (for a change) performance in the post-season and CIN plays a good game. However they can't keep up with Carson Palmer who has a huge day airing it out to Larry Fitz, John Brown, and Michael Floyd who each have 7+ receptions and a TD. Just for good measure Palmer adds a receiving TD to RB David Johnson and Jermaine "hands of stone" Gresham does his thing and drops another easy TD in the end zone.

Nice work - Plausible.
Biggest Joker is if any more injuries occur. Which contenders can succeed with their back-up QBs?

Would love to see NC in the SB. Don't think they will lose to NYG though, but could potentially get taken out by ATL. Cam is a beast and is such a threat. I think he deserves it.

Hmmm... maybe I'm missing something but your Pats/Broncos scenario seems a little off.

1. NE (10-1); PHI, @HOU, TEN, @NYJ, @MIA.
3. DEN (9-2); @SD, OAK, @PIT, CIN, SD

You say NE would lock up top seed if they win their next 3 games (bringing them to 13-1). At that point (in your scenario) Denver would be at 11-3 by losing to SD. However, at this point that gives Denver a chance to win out and end 13-3, and they beat NE so they have the tie breaker.

All that means is I don't think NE can clinch top seed until week 16 if Denver only loses 1 game.

I think there's a good chance that KC will win out the rest of their season. I also think it's likely Denver will lose to at least one of @PIT and CIN. Denver can't afford to lose more than two games and retain their division lead.

I predict Denver will win all their divisional games from here out. The important game is the Cincinnati one. If Denver wins that, and all their divisional games, they get the #2 seed and a bye. If not, they probably get the #3 (or #4) seed.

Useless predictions is useless. The Pats playoff performance will depend on who is healthy enough to play. Yea, over the years Brady has made due with crappy talent but those were also the years they got knocked off in the playoff's. People are claiming this is the "new" Cinci that will not choke in a playoff game, possible, but defiantly in the "we'll see" category. Ditto for Denver's replacement QB, dude had a great 4th Qtr and nailed some nice deep balls but he also struggled a lot in the first 3 Qts. Again, falls in the "we'll see" category. It will be interesting to see what happens if Denver keeps winning and PM gets back to full strength, does Kubiac pull the kid and hand it back to PM or ride the "hot" hand, stay tuned...

I think the Vikings are looking stronger. Expect them to make the NFC championship barring injuries. At this stage Seattle probably has too many issues to make it that far. They really need to reload the o-line to come back strong next season.

Would love to see Osweiler beat NE in the playoffs.

Apparently there's still a scenario where the Panthers don't get in.. super super long shot though.

IMO they are very one-dimensional on offense, good defense but in the playoff's whoever they face will "stack the box" and make Bridgewater beat them. I like Carolina to win the SB no matter who gets in for the AFC (barring any major injuries in the last 5 weeks of course). Kam is just very, very difficult to game-plan for, go ahead and assign a "spy" on him if you wish but that will mean problems on the back-end he can take advantage of. I don't think Osweiler will see the benefit of all the non-calls he got in last weeks game, plus the Pats defense is a heck of a lot better with Collins and Hightower at LB. Kid did make some nice throws though, I'll give him that.
