As much as they all said his confidence went up with all the added laps, I don't think it would best the nismo given the same amount of track experience by the same driver. I would expect the nismo times to improve as well under the same circumstances.

Yep I agree, both cars should have been retested.

I'm sure having a tire like this helped a lot..

But it's settled the Chevy beat the automatic porker Nissan that costs $50k more.

It would have been the only way to quell all the chatter about octane booster too.

That's what comes on them. Just like mine:

I know they are stock tires, but don't you see a difference? Look at the outer tread groove on yours compare to the pic I posted. It's nearly a race tire at that wear level. I'm not saying it invalidates anything, Chevy made the right tire choice and the vette in it's factory form is faster.

The tire debate is... frustrating. "You have to compare the cars stock for stock!" Well... I agree with everything being stock except for tires and brakes - both of these are required to be replaced at some point, and often there is a less expensive and better alternative to OEM. I don't know anyone who tracks a car with OEM brakes and tires, at least not for very long. And if you're not on the track you'll rarely, if ever, notice the minute differences between cars like these.

Or some of us actually own these cars and were utterly baffled at the original "too much oversteer" comments Pobst made when the car doesn't normally perform that way. Add that to the complaints that Lago had on turn in, and it was obvious that something was up.

I don't think we have any GT-R Nismo owners here (only 52 of them in the states), but we have at least 2 Z06s. One w/ Z07.

I think there are 3 Z06 owners here that I know of: You, KentState (?), and I. I've only got 208 miles on mine right now, and haven't driven it hard at all yet. And mine's not a Z07.

KentState's isn't a Z06 but I think there is one more whose name I don't recall.
