It's a good idea to have a mechanic check any used car you are buying. Also you want them to check for any evidence of accident damage that was fixed, as it will affect resale greatly.

Yes, but I having the mechanic check the used car I am Selling.
Also, there is no accident damage since I have not gotten into any accidents.

What a waste of auto insurance. :p
Back in 2003, 2 cars ago, I had a $16000 hail damage claim and around $700 in rental car coverage (25 per day, almost a full month)

My insurance is going up a lot now for this Lexus .... gonna pay the grande sum of $377 per 6 months instead of the $220 ish I've been paying.

When I was like 23-24 and had a speeding ticket on my record from out of state and driving a car with a nice engine, insurance was around $200 for just 1 month!

what the holy hell? did you add an extra 0 by mistake there? D:

This has been freaking me out a bit recently because this is the first time in my life that I have been in the position to care about the (external) condition of my vehicle sitting outside. We get freak violent summer storms here, and every year there has been some nasty hail in my area. Those never damaged my previous car, despite sitting out fully exposed...but I fully expect that to happen now with the new car, lol.

The hail was approx fist sized, it damaged every light and every body panel and cracked the rear window.

I was living along Lake Cook Rd in IL at the time ... right at the center of that circle on the border between lake and cook counties.

OK, not adult fist size, more Donald Trump fist size .... aka a lil bit bigger than a golf ball

Clublexus forums were very useful for when I was researching vehicles.
I'm very happy with the GS, and the IS was on my short list, but, I wanted a bit more room for us :)
Thank you very kindly!

The interior is about 1000000% nicer than my base model trim 2008 Subaru...

Clublexus is the site for Lexus owners for sure. I'm over there on a daily basis.

I go by Amish at that site. I'm not very involved more a lurker because the site has so much info. I have an older 1999 Lexus LS400.

From one GS owner to another, congrats on your new GS! Been lurking for years over at Club Lexus because that forum is full of information. I went from too scared to touch anything on the car to taking the engine apart and put it back together.
