Yeah, we're not finishing in the top 10 in league #1. But I'll still keep running whatever I like anyway, and hope it gets us some points. :)

Hey guys, it's just another one of those BigFish/SmallPond VS SmallFish/BigPond situations, what's the difference, really? Don't despair!

Oh wait, I guess there'll eventually be sharks swimming around the pond if it gets big enough...

Hmmm.

Good luck with that.

So will there be an organize attack of some sort, or is it do what you wish and see what sticks?

Whats up with Collatz, anybody know?

I think we should do what we did last year, which was everybody doing whatever they want up until around September, and then work together on projects that can get us some extra points.

We'll be lucky to get 1 or 2 points total. There are just too many teams that are much more powerful than TeAm AnandTech. Hopefully I'm wrong though. ;)

Well, we're in 1st place in Yafu, at least until I get to 2.5 million points and move my computers to a different project.. ;)

Looks like [thread=2422823]Peter's trying to organize something[/thread]. Bumped so people who pay attention to this kind of thing can suggest projects that would be good to work on.

If Universe test project gives out more WUs, we should get them. We are only 88,100 behind. There should not be much movement in this project.

A big part of choosing projects is if anyone had planned on moving it to 1M or 5M or a major Milestone. For instance, I had planned to move NFS to 5 or 10M this year. It is high paying.

Another thing to look for is if the project does not have many people crunching it. Like YAFU, not very popular, we already have points.

I recently noticed that FiND is high paying and so thought to run that to 1M or more if they continue to have WUs. But we are not that close to points so ...
Also it is a med/bio project, which should help, I believe. I don't know any more about it though.

We are not far from points in Citizen Science Grid and if they ever get SubSetSum going that might be an option.

Another thing to consider is if the project might close or only have a few WUs available. Like a few of the projects last year where we stole some points! Gerasim might be one of those this year? It is good paying, we have some points and are not that far behind more.

We have points in Leiden Classical and are very close to more. It is not very popular, maybe because it is low paying?

And finally: if we give a project a big bump, it will still need crunchers to keep it there

It is low paying but I've been crunching it for the last 3 weeks or so.

I've been running Leiden Classical for a while, but just got to my personal goal of 2.5 million points so I moved my computers on to my next goal project. I can probably move them back later if needed. I did the same thing with Yafu, which is where a good chunk of our current Formula points came from. ;)

I was running Citizen Science Grid for a few days on my home computer and it had a very high rate of return on points, but it refuses to go idle when BOINC tells it to (when I have an exclusive app running, for example) and doesn't have a low enough "nice" level to actually get out of the way when other programs need CPU cycles, so I can't run it at all on any of my office computers and don't really want to run it on my home computers either...

I came home from work today to find Universe TEST WU's running. Three WU left on the server at this instant, but perhaps they're going to be active for a while, time to rack up some points and hope that other teams aren't participating at the moment! :)

Universe TEST handing out tasks again, 8600 of them. Should be easy to grab some more points in the Formula with this project.

Happy Easter all!

Joined. But we need more than 150K points to pass the next competitor (if that team does not grab a lot of the WUs...).

We gained on them some the last time there was work available. It may take several 'bursts' of available work, but I'm confident we can take their spot. (eventually) (Possibly this time since there are so many WU's. Last time I only saw 1200-1400 WU if my memory is correct.)

Edit: At the last update we rose ~3000-3500pts versus their ~445pts.

We should soon rise from #8 to #7, as we are putting out 3x more points than they, then #6 later, and #5 MUCH later (depends on amount of work mostly).

#6 is putting up a good fight (we are producing only 30% more), and current #6 will likely overtake the current #5.

So that means we can likely overtake them eventually too, rising a total of two spots this time (this week?), from #8 to #6.

After that, we could only hope to take the #5 spot (which will likely be held by Czech National). The #4 spot would require more than 5 MILLION points. :\

This might be a prolonged project...current server status says more than 19,000 WU! :)
