nah. i don't care for the headlights at all, and the front and rear should be squared up - it probably looks more tapered that it really is.

i'm afraid if confronted with this problem in 2014 i should have to look elsewhere for my land yachting satisfaction. so sorry, stuttgart.

Looks good. A little CLA/CLS-ish, but in fact, I think CLA/CLS is the most beautiful Merc ever made, so good afterall.

Now, I have missed subtle aero stuff before...'what's up with those stupid bumps on the headlights' became 'oh, it directs air over the side mirrors...that's clever.'

But surely there's nothing beneficial that comes from doing that to the side of the car, right?

It kinda looks like it should have a fake side scoop off a 99-04 Mustang on the rear door...

Its not bad. I like it but, like all Merc and BMW designs I think it could be better too.

As for the creases, yeah its just styling here. I wouldn't call it random though and I like it here. Can you guys really not see how both the side creases flow off the front end? And I honestly think the reason why all these creases are becoming popular is to make it harder for the Chinese to make knockoffs.

Dash looks nice too although I still think the two big flat LCDs look chintzy.

Stupid Kills

Car design had a huge leap in mid-late 2000's, which was a huge enough that some may not able to follow. Unfortunate for them, but good for the rest of us. IMHO, the design improvement past 10 years has been as much improvement as what happened for at least 20 years before that.

I disagree, the 80s were a boon for design and fluidity

Overall car design is much better now than the 90s, but the styling of these rich people cars is getting way too baroque. BMW and Merc are competing to see who can make the most outrageous designs. It's the automotive equivalent of wearing bling.

At least Audi still makes cleanly designed cars

in MB's case, that period saw them putting their massive profits back into the cars again, after a decade of cashing out with poor results.

audi is the one that introduced those hideous lined headlights.

Are you serious? Audi has developed the most gaudy grille that they possibly could. Acura could learn something from them.

So 'caught uncovered' now means 'posed in a number of different locals and angles while a professional photographer takes pictures to send out to magazines to generate buzz'.

Interesting.
