2014 Corvette Sting Ray... it looks an awful lot like the 2013 Ferrari Berlinetta.

There is a slight resemblance to the 2013 Ferrari Berlinetta.

Is Chevy trying to appeal to the Foreign car fans or did they not think that people would make comparisons?

A lack of creativity isn't going to help them to become the profitable business that they once were.

I'm not the biggest fan of the Corvette's new Camaro/Malibu-inspired square taillights either. But it's not all that similar and really, a lot of sports cars look the same now. For a while, in the late 2000s, even the Viper looked somewhat similar to the Corvette in terms of body shape. Since then, they've made it look more like the original Viper.

I believe the Ferrari looks like the Corvette.

As a matter of fact, the Corvette has been around looking like this for a very long time.

So you're saying Chevy makes a $50,000 car that you think looks almost identical to a $330,000 car, yet you do not think they are going to make a profit on it?

I don't know which is which but that second car is fuck ugly (I blame the rims and black on red color scheme). But they look alike in the fact they're both red fancy cars, yes. Beyond that, no. The devil is in the details and aside from having similar silhouettes they don't really share a lot.

I have drove the final PROTOTYPE in GT5, it has only 550 hp and is rather sluggish when you compare it to some others but Oh Boy... Does it look good!

How many of these will be sold at "Base Price"? Probably none.

Here are the full 2012 Corvette Production Statistics from GM:

Corvettes Models Amount Percent

Base Coupe 2,820 24.2%
GS Coupe 5,056 43.4%
Base Convertible 621 5.3%
GS Convertible 2,268 19.5%
Z06 478 4.1%
ZR1 404 3.5%
_______ _______
Total 11,647 100%

Until 2014 when you see 10-15 per day, all base models, all autos. Can't wait.

And to say the corvette looks like the berlinetta is an insult. Just glancing at those two images shows the corvette design scheme is....... a straight line. Compared to the sexy curves of the ferrari? No contest.

Why would Chevrolet be "appealing to foreign car fans" based on a design that was released last year? All I see in the Stingray is a Grand Sport with a different accent pattern, but they've been doing that body design since before the Berlinetta. Aesthetics are another argument, but let's be honest here.

If both cars were painted black, and the picture was taken at night from the same angle as these shots, they would probably look similar. The side silhouettes are similar, along with most other coupes on the market. They don't look alike at all otherwise.

Base Coupe 2,820 24.2%
GS Coupe 5,056 43.4%
Base Convertible 621 5.3%
GS Convertible 2,268 19.5%
Z06 478 4.1%
ZR1 404 3.5%

I'm surprised how few Z06's were sold. I see them relatively frequently around here, must have sold in much higher numbers in previous years. Not sure I've seen a ZR1.

From the only view you're probably going to see of either of these cars, I have to agree they look like identical twins seperated at birth:

NOT!

C'mon folks - the 2014 Corvette was designed many years ago - no way they are stealing anything from Ferrari. The lead time on cars at Chevy is a very long time..

And with lower CD's - all designs start to look similar.

I see a little resemblance, but that 'shape' is how a lot of cars companies are going. If anything, the Corvette has a LONG relationship with that shape historically as much as anyone.

That said, I think both cars look great. It is impossible for two different things to both look good???
